We were asked for help by a member of the public.
A lady found some kittens in her garden that seemed to have been abandoned by their mother. They had done the right thing and waited for the mother to return, but she didn't.
The 5 kittens needed help to survive so one of our volunteers came out to help.
The kittens were very cold and had to be carefully warmed up. Sadly two didn't survive.
The remaining three were warmed and then bottle-fed to try to get them to pick up. Two of the kittens started to fade and despite their rescuer's best efforts, they died a few hours later.
The last remaining kitten, now named Sparkle, was rushed to a very experienced kitten fosterer, but despite the best care available, he sadly lost the fight.
This was heartbreaking, but we then made efforts the catch the cats that were living in the shed, so they could be neutered, to prevent the same thing from happening again. Two cats were caught, believed to be mum and dad and passed onto a rescue and rehoming organisation.
