Pearl was brought to our attention.
She had been living on school grounds, sleeping in a disused duck house. She seemed unwell, but the concerned staff members couldn't get close to her as she would just run away.
She was hiding her problem well.
She was a feral cat and had a large mass on her side. This would mean either a major opp to have it removed or to have her put to sleep.
For Pearl, we decided to go with the former option and it cost us £950 in total for her treatment but we felt we just had to give her a chance. Strangely, the vet found the mass was caused by ingrown hair, but it was huge!
She has a lovely new home!
She was not at all happy in the company of people so she went on to be rehomed in a feral placement on a stable with other cats. She has settled in very well.
